The Capital - Tarragona
NE Spain, in Catalonia, on the Mediterranean Sea at the mouth of the
Francolà River. It has a port, commercial center, an oil refinery, flour mills, and large wine export. Some of Spain's finest wines are made in the nearby Priorat (Span. Priorato) region.
Tarragona is home to one of the most important ports in Spain. Tarragona is also the home of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.
Tarragona tourist attractions include the Museum of Archaeology and the Roman ruins of Tarraco, which has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Tarragona located near the holiday resort of Salou and the Universal Studiostheme park Port Aventura, one of the largest in Europe.
You can fly to Tarragona by flying into either Reus Airport which is about 13kms away or Barcelona Airport which is about 70 kms to the north of Tarragona.
